This feature comparison chart does not aim to be complete, if errors are found please leave us a note. We will fix it immediately. Features of compared applications which did not work reliable, have been set as not available.
As all applications offer different export formats and feature sets, only features "Annotation Edit" offers are included, although there is one exception ... ivideo rendering.

OS X native (Cocoa)
Annotation Edit: Yes. Some additions.
Belle Nuit Subtitler: No.
Sublime: No.
Miyu: Mixed.
MacCaption: No.

Conclusion: For DVD Studio Pro users there are two main competitors Annotation Edit and Sublime. If you need editable unicode subtitles or SCC, Sublime fails.
MacCaption's most prominent features are bound to closed caption encoding and has several features not mentioned here.
For Final Cut Pro users and users who need reusable subtitles across the line, there is only one choice, Annotation Edit.
