Subtitling

Reduce repetitive time-consuming tasks where possible

Subtitling typically is set into several tasks.

  • A rough translation (at least according to subtitling needs) is done.
  • The time-code for subtitle entrys has to be spotted.
  • Legability and continuity of subtitle entries are fine-tuned. This means fine-tuning of textual length and duration.

If multiple language tracks should be needed, the time-consuming part 2 (rough spotting) can be considered as rather redundant.

The reuse of existing spotting information as well as automation of the spotting process should help to reduce time and costs.

It should be easy to accomodate subtitle tracks for variant needs such as DVD, TV, Film, Web, WebTV.

Minimize the need for costly editing machines.
